Last night's rain sure was intense in all around the Stateline, even more so in DeKalb county. The City of DeKalb is under a Flood Warning.

The National Weather Service as issued a Flood warning for the southern branch Kishwaukee River at DeKalb.

last night heavy rains of up to two to four inches in some locations across DeKalb county in the past 24 hours have caused rises along the Kishwaukee River.

Check out these pictures of the flooding along Fairview Drive in the southern part of DeKalb, near and around River Heights Park.

The National Weather Service reports:

At 1045 AM Thursday the stage was 9.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...Rise above flood stage by late this afternoon and
continue to rise to near 10.2 feet by this evening.The river will
fall below flood stage by early Friday.
* Impact...At 10.4 feet...Water covers one lane of Taylor Street on
the south side of DeKalb. Water approaches apartments near the
river on Taylor Street. Flooding of Lions park. Some homes near
river experience flooding.
