Trolley Weekend at Illinois Railway Museum

This Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m, is Trolley Weekend at the Illinois Railway Museum. Here's everything that's happening according to IRM's website;

Trolley Weekend will highlight the electric railroads that once blanketed the Chicago area. Dozen of antique streetcars, interurban cars, and elevated railway cars will be providing rides to attendees.

During Trolley Weekend 2021, visitors will have the opportunity to be engineer of the museum's biggest electric cars, the double-deck "Highliner" MU cars from the Metra Electric line. For just $10 you can operate a train of these cars at IRM.

Can you say a train lovers dream weekend?!? All of Illinois Railway Museum's electric, diesel and steam trains will also be operating during Trolley Weekend, so your family will have plenty of things to ooh and aah over.

General admission to Illinois Railway Museum is $15 for adults, $13 for senior citizens, and $11 for kids, and there is an additional charge of $10 to drive the trolley. Buy general admission tickets in advance at irm.org.

Also, don't forget that the 'Day Out With Thomas' event begins the following weekend at Illinois Railway Museum, and tickets are selling fast! Better grab yours right now!
