South Beloit Ice Cream Shop Reopens After Record-Breaking Year
If you needed a sign that ice cream is a must this weekend, this is it.
After a long winter we had, it's nice to finally see so many ice cream shops open back up for the season! Though many stay open year-round, some re-open when the weather starts to get nice again. One of those places is M & M Dari Ripple!
M & M Dari Ripple reopened on Good Friday, and honestly, it couldn't have come soon enough. The longtime local favorite is heading into 2026 after what was a seriously big year for them.
Last season was definitely one for the books. The 74-year-old ice cream shop added a State Fair Mini Donut machine, which ended up being a total game-changer. It opened the door for new desserts, including their now-famous State Fair Mini Donut Sundae-which, let's be honest, sounds like something you need to try at least once.
The co-owner, Alicia Peterson, said April and May were record-breaking months, and overall sales jumped about 10%. Not bad for a place that's already been a staple for decades! So, what's new this year? Nothing. That's actually the point.
For 2026, M & M Dari Ripple is keeping this exactly the same; the menu, same prices, same classics people come back for every single year. In a world where everything seems to be getting more expensive, that alone feels like a win.

They officially reopened on Good Friday from 11am-9pm, and will keep those hours daily. Whether you're going for a cone, sundae, or those mini donuts, it's one of those deliciously sweet treats in life that hits every time.
Dairy Depot in Loves Park hasn't announced an opening date yet, The Scoop in Winnebago says to stay tuned for reopening details, and Dari Ripple in Belvidere opens on April 10th! But Dairyhaus is always open year-round in Rockton! If you're looking to take a short drive from Rockford, that's definitely the place to hit up.
