I’ve been a firm believer that a burrito is the perfect punctuation on a great night out. It sops up whatever you’ve been swilling, and they usually taste great.

LoveFood Names Chicago Burrito Among the Best in the State

I’ve noticed people have strong opinions about where to get a great burrito. Whether it be here in Rockford or even in Chicago, folks everywhere will tell you the best place to get a burrito.

LoveFood put together a list of the best burrito joints in each state and said the carne asada burrito from Taqueria El Asadero in Chicago is the goods.

What Makes Taqueria El Asadero’s Burrito Stand Out

At this dinky, cash-only taqueria, you'll find a carne asada burrito that’s brimming with flavorful meat, onion, cilantro, lettuce, tomato, and cheese (if you choose to add it into the mix). It’s already big, but if you want it fully stuffed, you can pay a little more for extras such as rice, beans, jalapeños, sour cream, and guacamole.

While this all sounds amazing, and to be fair, I’ve had burritos from places like this growing up, the lack of a Rockford restaurant mentioned is disturbing, so I consulted Yelp for Rockford’s standout burrito.

The popular foodie website says Supermercado Guanajuato Rockford is the best place for a burrito in the Forest City.

Located at 519 Marchesano, Supermercado reviewers say the burritos were huge and delicious, so this might be the place.

I’m going with El Burrito Loco at 2430 Auburn, which ranked 4th overall in Rockford.
