A Milwaukee woman is facing a felony charge after police say she caused more than $10,000 worth of damage to a DoorDash driver’s vehicle.

Delivery Gone Wrong

The incident began on July 11, when driver Faith Morris accepted a late-night order that she described as “high-priced.” Morris said she loaded her kids into the car and drove to pick it up, but her phone shut off unexpectedly due to an unpaid bill.

Without service, Morris was unable to pull up the customer’s address in the app. She said she sat outside the home for about 10 minutes while trying to get her phone reactivated. When she couldn’t resolve the issue, she returned home with the food.

From Frustration to Felony

According to a criminal complaint, the customer, identified as 22-year-old Janiyah Jones, was angry about not receiving her order. Reports say Jones tracked Morris to her home and repeatedly called her for nearly an hour after the failed delivery.

The complaint states Jones later showed up and attacked Morris’ vehicle, allegedly throwing a brick, smashing windows with a tire iron, and causing glass to shatter around the car. Morris told TMJ4 News the attack was overwhelming. “It was so crazy how the glass was just raining from the sky when she was hitting it,” she said.

Police Investigation and Arrest

Investigators matched Ring doorbell footage of the incident with body camera footage from a previous crash involving Jones earlier this year. Records from DoorDash also confirmed her phone number. Authorities determined the suspect had caused over $10,000 in damages to Morris’ vehicle, leaving her unable to continue working as a delivery driver.

DoorDash Responds

DoorDash issued a statement condemning the incident, saying the customer’s behavior was “completely uncalled for, unacceptable, and disturbing.” The company confirmed the customer has been permanently banned from the platform and reassured drivers that home addresses are never shared with customers.

Morris, still shaken by the incident, emphasized her disbelief over the situation. “She did this over a ten-piece chicken wing,” she said.
