According to this new survey that ranks the dives into some of the best small cities in the country, WalletHub looked at 1,300 cities with populations between 25,000 - 100,000.

They also looked into how the range from housing costs to school quality to the number of restaurants.

Using that metric then neither Rockford (146k), Roscoe (10,632), nor Freeport (23k) are small towns.

Wisconsin Has One Small City Ranked As 2nd Best in the United States

You heard that right, the Dairy State gets some bragging rights! The proud city of Brookfield, Wisconsin was crowned as #2 in the nation.

Brookfield was highlighted for multiple reasons! Here are some key takeaways that led to this amazing small city getting a spotlight.

  • 3% unemployment rate (one of the lowest in the country)
  • 96th highest in homeownership
  • 31st Lowest Crime Rate in the Country

Those are just small things that the iconic small city was highlighted for.
