Illinois Treasurer Is Coming To Winnebago With Unclaimed Property
Sounds too good to be true, right? It's not #fakenews, Illinois officials might be bringing YOU money, kind of. It's more like Illinois' Treasurer is coming to Winnebago to help residents receive unclaimed properties.
WREX news reported Illinois Treasurer Michael Frerichs will be at Winnebago Library on Friday from 12-3 p.m. to assist residents in reuniting with their unclaimed property.
Tens of millions of dollars worth of property are unclaimed in Winnebago — and some of that money could belong to you... The event is from noon to 3 p.m. The library is located on 210 N. Elida St. in Winnebago.
According to iCash (via Illinois Treasurer's office), there are almost $3 billion in unclaimed funds for Illinois residents, which the State holds until claimed by either the original owner or their heirs. There is no charge for claiming the lost property but you must have proper identification.
