Marissa calls it 'Alt Yoga,' but I call it swearing, drinking yoga, and it was the most fun I've had in a long time.

When you hear 'yoga,' you can think a ton of different things. Stretching is definitely one of them, but aside from that the variations are endless.

I've tried a ton of different yoga classes before and they've all been too calm and too slow for me.

But I found one that's not calm at all, Alt Yoga!

Marissa is a licensed clinical professional counselor and a registered yoga teacher and she likes to combine those two gifts together, mix in some swearing and drinking and help Rockfordians toss out all the crap in their life and let in the good stuff.

Her philosophy has a more colorful vocabulary... you can read about it here.

If you know me, you know that swearing in public was hard for me but I tired it Saturday morning, I'm working on that, but the drinking a cocktail while in a yoga pose? I have that part down.

I've had dozens of people ask me when the next Alt Yoga pop-up event is and we're in luck because it was just announced today.

The next pop-up is Monday, May 10 at 6:15pm at Louie's Tap House in Roscoe. You can follow them on Facebook for all the details!

And if you're wondering what I'm drinking in that extremely dirty feet photo, it's Tito's Punch from Octane, light on the cherry juice.

Catch Midday Michelle on 97 ZOK from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Follow her on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
