
Illinois Sheriff’s Office Hits Staffing Milestone with Law Enforcement Fully Staffed
It's a big win for public safety in the Rockford region as the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) reaches full capacity.

According to the WCSO press release, staffing deputies at full capacity was made possible through a combination of lateral hires and targeted recruitment.

This marks a milestone for the Sheriff's Office under the leadership of Sheriff Gary Caruana, who credited the success to his team that was part of a department-wide effort to attract experienced law enforcement officers and strong new candidates.

While staffing for law enforcement is at full capacity, the WCSO has other critical areas they're hiring for.
Continued Recruitment for Critical Support Roles
According to the press release, the Sheriff's Office is actively recruiting for openings in Corrections, 911 dispatch, Records, Administration, and Civilian support roles.

Sheriff Caruana said that each of the departments plays a vital role in making sure there is operational excellence.

According to the report, the WCSO continues to make officer wellness and community collaboration a priority, and with the use of the latest advanced law enforcement technology.
