I absolutely agree with Governor J.B. Pritzker's statement, that no one should be bottling up their emotions during this incredibly difficult time.

During a recent COVID-19 pandemic news briefing, Governor Pritzker showed extra concern for those struggling to manage their emotions during this uncertain time.

“I want to say to all of you – feel all of it. We are living in a deeply unprecedented moment, and holding the emotional ramifications of that inside will only be harder on you. It’s OK to feel, and please know you don’t have to feel it all alone. I want you to know that we’re here to help.” (Gov. Pritzker, 4/11/2020)

Illinois launched a new support hotline called, Call4Calm, for anyone who needs help with mental health-related issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

To reach out for help, text TALK to 552-020 and the state will put you in touch with a counselor. The hotline is even available in Spanish, text HABLAR to the same number.

The service is 100% FREE.
