Isn't it nice when you have an extremely long list of things that you need to get done and somebody tells you to go ahead and scratch an item off of your list because they're going to go ahead and give you some extra time?

Think back to those quizzes and tests that you may not have gotten around to studying for (that can't be just me, right?), and the teacher who made your day by giving you an extension.

It's like that here in Illinois, only the teacher who is giving you that extension is Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, and the quiz you're studying for is the Illinois Rules of the Road.

If You're Thinking That We've Had A Few Of These Extensions Before, You're Absolutely Right

Now, You Can Wait Until Thanksgiving Dinner Is Cleaned Up Before You Need To Act

Here in Illinois, expiration dates for driver’s licenses, ID cards, and learner’s permits are being extended until December 1st.

This new and latest extension covers Illinois driver's licenses, ID cards and learner's permits. Commercial driver's licenses and CDL learner's permits are not covered, according the the Secretary of State's office.

If it's been awhile, here's what you'll need to do for renewal of a standard Illinois driver's license:

Show a document displaying proof of identification, which could contain your written signature (current driver's license, canceled check, court order, credit card), date of birth (birth certificate, adoption record, citizenship certificate, U.S. passport), Social Security number (social security card, W-2 form), and residency (bank statement, insurance policy, pay stub, utility bill).

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
