Another fun fact about Joe Biden's dogs, they had their very own "Indoguration"! It was adorable and if you missed it, here's the recap that's totally worth the watch.

The entire event was awesome, but there was actually an Illinois dog featured who was given a really special honor. It happens at around 8:50 in the video. There was a national contest over Zoom that looked for the first ever Secretary of Rescue Dogs.

About 700 dogs participated, and Harper from East Peoria won! Harper's owner Colleen Kahl detailed -

You had to say what they would accomplish in the first 90 days. So I said that she would raise awareness and funds for shelter and rescue animals and organizations, and promote literacy and social/emotional development for kids as a therapy dog, and she'd reach across the aisle to her cat counterparts and try to fight for animal rights.

The contest also raised money for the humane association in Delaware, AKA Biden and Major's home state. And like most jobs, Harper's new position has its perks. According to ABC -

As for Harper, her shots are covered for a year, plus she gets a yearly exam.

Congrats Harper!
