Illinois and Wisconsin Residents Agree, This Halloween Candy is the Worst
If you live in Wisconsin or Illinois, and you're stocking up for a Halloween candy extravaganza, you should probably leave these off the shopping list.
The truth is, you probably wouldn't be buying them in the first place.
That's because according to the folks at Instacart and their article The Great Halloween Candy Debate, says Illinois and Wisconsin residents are less likely than nearly every state in America to buy a bag of candy corn.
While folks in Mississippi are 96% more likely to buy a bag of candy corn for Halloween people in Illinois and Wisconsin feel much much differently.
Wisconsin ranked 3rd overall at -38% and Illinois was 5th at -27% as two of the top five states least likely to scoop up a bag of candy corn.
Why is candy corn hated on so much?
Is it the flavor, or the texture that folks can’t stand? Or is it due to some unfortunate childhood trauma surrounding the colorful sweet masquerading as the grain-vegetable hybrid?
My childhood experience with candy corn was, well, I didn't get to eat it very often.
I recall finding plenty of candy corn at the bottom of my trick-or-treat container, and it was open and loose.
In my family, that was a big no-no. Anything open that was handed out for Halloween was immediately pitched out.
Having eaten candy corn as an adult, I can officially tell you, I didn't miss out on candy corn when I was a kid.
