How to Light Charcoal with Sugar: Does this Work?

I read that if you don't have lighter fluid you can light charcoal with sugar.

I wanted to know "does this work?"

Oh well it was a nice try. Maybe I sprinkled on too much sugar? Not sure what happened. Maybe it'll work better for you?
