If you've been living under a rock, you probably wouldn't have noticed the flash flood that occurred in Rockford last night.

Like, it was national news. Videos of flooded Rockford streets and cars bobbing up and down like they're trying to catch a fish were splashed all over Good Morning America.

There were pictures of good samaritans helping those who were trapped in their cars, a video of a man on a jet ski riding the high waters and reports of local hospitals flooded.

By the time the rain was all gone, the only thing left to do was compute how much actually fell.

Thankfully, I didn't have to do that job. I wouldn't even know where to start. That's where the 13 Weather Authority team at WREX swooped in to save the day.

Just a few hours ago, WREX shared this picture on their Facebook page.

Wow. Just wow. Like I mentioned earlier, I have no idea how they managed to calculate the rainfall but it sure seems like a lot of digits.

Really though, the best way to describe how much rain we got in Rockford to someone who didn't live through it would be to just tell them "we got so much rain, there was a guy riding his jet ski through it."

That should probably be enough.
