The "Creepy Clown" phenomenon has now affected a local high school. The Rockford Register Star has a story about a reported threat to Harlem High School in Machesney Park. Here is what the high school sent to students:

"It has been brought to my attention that there is a rumor going around HHS about a 'Clown' shooting up the school. Our school resource officer, along with administration has conducted a thorough investigation. We have concluded that there is no viable threat. We will continue to evaluate the situation and use every method possible to keep the students and staff of Harlem High School safe and secure. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Building Principal Mr. Terrell Yarbrough."

This whole thing started by someone saying that something was going to happen during one of the school periods.

At least it wasn't as bad as what happened 76 miles east at a Waukegon school as three people dressed up as clowns yelled at kids during recess and then threatened to come back and "kill them". According to the report by WGN TV, one of them was showing a knife and another said they had a gun.

Seriously? Why do people have to go and ruin things. There has to be something better for people to do than get dressed up as a clown and threaten kids. When kids get involved, enough is enough.
