Everything about this COVID-19 pandemic is hard. People are stressed, they are struggling, and to get through this mess we need to find the positives in every day. When I start to feel down, I try to look for the joy. I look for people doing amazing things for others to help me feel inspired. I look for small things I can do to bring a smile to my kids faces, or things that will make me laugh and get me out of a dark place.

Today I found that bright spot in a newly created Facebook group for women living in Winnebago, Boone and Ogle county. It's called "Sisterhood of the Traveling Fairies-Winnebago/Boone/Ogle County IL", and I've already submitted my request to join this group that has one important mission; to sprinkle joy in our community.

The group was created two weeks ago and already has over 5,000 members that are doing little things to surprise neighbors and bring a smile to their faces.

Ladies, all we have to do to be a "traveling fairy" is put together simple gift baskets of things that bring comfort and joy, and then leave them on the doorstep of another member's  home to brighten their day.

It doesn't take much to make a difference, and I think we all need this sweet reminder that we're all in this together.

Today I'm going to start stocking up on chocolate and candles and get to making some cute signs with inspirational messages so I am ready to "sprinkle" some extraordinary women in the 815 soon. I sure hope you'll join me, ladies!
