We are just over one week away from Halloween, and I don't know about your family, but mine really needs to have some fun right now. The weather is dreary and the Rockford-area region is dealing with rising COVID-19 numbers, but thankfully that doesn't mean all the Halloween fun has come to an end, we just need to be smart about how we do it.

I came across an article today at GoRockford.com and I immediately thought, this is some stuff we all need to check out! Here's two Halloween things you can take your family to next week in the Stateline-area according to GoRockford:

  • Anderson Japanese Gardens is giving free admission and treats to all kids dressed in costume Monday, October 26 through Friday, October 30. Hoo Haven will be on hand with some spooky guests on Monday (10/26) and Friday (10/30) from 3 to 5 p.m., plus it's a super time to see all the fall colors at their finest!
  • Discovery Center Museum is hosting Spooky Science Days Thursday, October 29 through Saturday, October 31. Dress in your costumes and have some fun with hands-on Halloween crafts and activities and even play monster hide-and-seek

Now let's talk about some fabulous places to pick up some tasty Halloween eats! GoRockford suggests checking out Sugar Britches in Rockton, the new Sweets N' Eats by Sam's Club in Rockford, or The Little Chocolatier in Rockford for some truly unique and delicious Halloween treats.

Obviously, the Stateline-area is blessed with a ton of great bakeries and dessert shops which are cookin' up special spooky selections right now. What's your favorite place to go to this time of year?
