If you're a Rockford resident, you know there's so much happening at Sinnissippi Park and the Nicholas Conservatory every month.

Did you know there's one special event that's become a big hit in town?  It's called Glow In The Garden and it's back this September!

I attended Glow In The Gardens with some friends last year and I could tell all the families who brought their kiddos out had a blast with all the fun activities!  It's exactly what you expect it to be... and more.

GLOW IN THE GARDEN

On September 16th from 6pm-9pm, celebrate the end of summer with the Rockford Park District and Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens!

Starting at 6pm sharp, you can decorate paper lanterns and release them in the lagoon by the Gardens!  Staff will have lanterns available for just $5 or you can skip the lines and pre-order them here!

Mine was pretty simple, I'm definitely not an artist haha.  After you're done decorating, you bring your lantern down to the lagoon and release it to light up the water!

At 7pm, they'll have a Glow in the Garden 200 meter Kids Fun Run for FREE!  There's no registration required for this.

If you're interested in the 5k Run at 7:30pm, that'll cost $25-$35 depending.  You can find more information about that here.  When you sign up, you'll get a t-shirt and one admission ticket to Nicholas Conservatory for a future visit!

There will even be glow sticks, glow necklaces, and all sorts of fun neon toys you can purchase while you're hangin' out at the event.  I was so tempted to buy one of everything last time, so I can only imagine how excited your kiddos will be!  Find out all the info on the event Facebook page.
