Former Five Forks Restaurant in Rockford is Getting a New Meat-Loving Owner
To be fair, I don't really know if the owner of the new restaurant moving into the former Five Forks Market in Rockford is a meat lover, but I'm assuming so because the new joint will be a steakhouse.
Matt Idzikowski, the restauranteur that owns Omakase and Vintage @501 in Downtown Rockford, plans to open a new restaurant featuring signature pasta dishes and locally sourced steaks in the former Five Forks Market building on Lexus Drive.
Iszikowski recently told WREX;
We're super excited to be bringing our talents to that side of town," says Idzikowski. "You know for a long long time people have been asking us to move east and bring things to that side of town.
It sounds like this new restaurant, which has not been officially named yet, will have a real farm-to-table vibe, and the best news is, it could be opening as soon as September 2021.
Since the new restaurant's name has not been announced yet, I cannot find any hiring information, but I bet that will be coming very soon. I did notice that Vintage @501 (one of Idzikowski's other restaurants) is currently hiring, so you might want to stop in that restaurant at 501 E State St. to see if you can get some inside scoop or apply in advance.
FYI, when Five Forks Market was open it featured a pretty spectacular outdoor dining area, so I really hope this space is still a part of the new steakhouse experience because I can already see myself enjoying a delicious filet here.
