Little Big Town have won the CMA for Vocal Group of the Year every year since 2012, including 2017. The quartet, made up of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook and Phillip Sweet, used their time onstage when accepting their trophy to encourage others to practice kindness -- a sentiment they continued to express backstage.

"I think we all need to focus on the things that are important," Fairchild shared with The Boot and other reporters after Little Big Town's win. "We’re a harmony band, and I don’t know -- it just struck me when I was up there: We’ve been together because, we might not agree on everything, but we talk about them across the table and we fellowship together, and we just say, ‘I love you.’ We might not agree, but we’re friends, and we need more of that community in our lives.

"Maybe we can put the differences aside, or just agree to disagree. So I think harmony, for me, it just struck me that, that’s really what we need," she continued. "It’s the ability to have a conversation without anger. It’s okay to love people that you disagree with."

LBT were nominated for Vocal Group of the Year at the 2017 CMA Awards along with Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum, the Zac Brown Band and Old Dominion. The country quartet says they're fans of all of the other groups with which they shared the category.

"I was looking out at Randy Owen from Alabama, and I was thinking of all the groups that have come before us," Sweet shared. "For us to be standing up there, we truly are humbled by it. It’s just amazing to be in that category, because there’s so much talent in that category. We’re very thankful."

During the 2017 CMA Awards ceremony, Little Big Town performed "Wichita Lineman" with Jimmy Webb, in tribute to Glen Campbell, and also accepted the CMA for Song of the Year, for their hit "Better Man," written by Taylor Swift. That trophy is awarded to the winning song's writer(s).

Little Big Town will headline the Breakers Tour next year, with Midland and Kacey Musgraves serving as their opening acts.
