A few weeks ago I posted a blog about how Illinois is a hot zone for the flu.

Well the outbreak our state is having is so bad that it literally closed an Aurora school.

WGN reports that the Illinois Math and Science Academy wrote on the school's website and posted on their Facebook page that it will be closed for a week due to the flu.

Out of the 637 students that attend IMSA, 106 of them were out Monday. Many complaining of having flu like symptoms. It was documented by the school that "at least 88 students who are sick, as many as 20 percent of the faculty and staff at the school have come down with the flu as well."

Yeeks... Nasty, nasty, NASTY!

According to school they made the decision to "shut down after consulting with the Kane County Health Department which recommended the extremely rare one-week shutdown."

While the school is closed they will be thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting the buildings to "lessen their risk and to limit the spread of infection.”

Having recently just getting over a bout with the flu I don't wish that on anyone. this strain is awful and it seems to be hitting everyone slightly differently.

I hope and pray for a speedy recovery for the kids, faculty and staff.
