On the night of Tuesday, January 28, 2025 people all over Illinois and Wisconsin were treated to an eerie and fascinating streak of fire in the sky, but what exactly were they seeing?

Incredible Sight In The Sky

Some people are fascinated by space, others find it highly unnerving. I happen to be one of the people that is completely weirded out by space things. (Pretty sure I watched the movie Armageddon one too many times.)

Honestly, I think the vast unknown of space is what makes me uneasy, but I do enjoy seeing things like shooting stars, meteors, eclipses, or this incredible event people saw in the sky this week...

Here's a video that was captured in Illinois on Tuesday night around 9 p.m.:

What the heck is that?!? Is it space debris, or is it something  creepier like a UFO on fire?!?

A National Weather Service meteorologist told TMJ4 in Milwaukee that "there were no scheduled meteor showers for Tuesday night and they had not heard of anything unusual" , so that leads me to believe that this may be the correct answer...

Whatever that fiery streak was, it sure is incredible to see. Did you catch video or pictures of it too? Send them to us on the app; we sure would love to see them!
