Yesterday, in the Rockford Register Star I came across an interesting energy saving event that's happening this Saturday. It's called Earth Hour. Ever heard of it?I thought it may have been what I had known it to be called "Lights Out" but wasn't sure so I looked it up. I found that  Earth Hour is the exact same thing, communities around the world are invited to take part in turning off your lights and any device or product (within reason) that requires electricity for one hour. Earth Hour will take place this Saturday night from 8:30pm - 9:30pm.

The cool thing anyone can do it. It's a great way to teach your kids about conserving energy. Plus, it's one a way in helping our environment. Anything we do to help the environment, no matter how great or small, is still a help.

In fact there's a whole site dedicated to Earth Hour with ways to participate and spread the awareness of making our world more energy efficient and how to help protect it.

I'm planning on participating. Will you?
