During a time of crisis, family pulls you through.

There are great examples of this in Illinois and across the country.

One of the best I've seen happened yesterday in Dixon, about 60 miles from Rockford.

That's where are a family baked cookies, made signs and then visited Liberty Court to see their grandfather and great-grandfather, Seymour Halford.

Visitors aren't allowed inside nursing homes or assisted living centers in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

That didn't stop the Barber, Govig, Lappin, and Bilharz families from seeing Seymour. Stunning pictures show the children waving signs, and smiling and some had their faces pressed on the window between them and their great-grandfather.
