This Christmas Shop In Dixon, Illinois Is An Absolute Hidden Gem
If you love combining Christmas with antiquing you're about to be blown away by what is hidden inside a storefront in Dixon, Illinois. You may look at the displays in the front windows and think you know what you're about to walk into but, in reality, you have no idea. I put one foot in this store and was overwhelmed by what I see.
What awaits inside The Gingerbread House, in Dixon, Illinois is something you might only find in a Christmas movie. Do not, for one moment, think I'm embellishing - this space is absolutely incredible. Until a few days before publishing this article I had no idea it existed. I promise you're going to want to see this with your own eyes in person.
Not only are you going to be greeted with an incredible amount of priceless pieces, many of which are Christmas-related, but you're also going to likely meet their sweet owners Steve and Sally. Their incredibly unique space has been open for around 30 years.
The Gingerbread House, at 109 W. First Street in Dixon, gives its profits to Sauk Valley Ministry's Haiti mission efforts. The storefront is only open a few weeks a year for a few days at a time.

It's hard to imagine there isn't a line of people waiting to explore the store. There are literally thousands of items displayed from floor to ceiling. One thing is certain, The Gingerbread House is the mecca for collectors.
