This is very welcome news for families with kids that have bored out of their minds for the past few months.

I've taken my little ones over to Discovery Center, 711 North Main Street, a few different times the past few years so I'm really glad.

Discovery Center announced yesterday they are officially reopening to the public on Wednesday, July 8 after having been temporarily closed for the past three months.

The museum has teamed with the Rockford Area Convention & Visitor's Bureau's (RACVB) Clean Hands, Open Doors program.

This means they are pledging to keep visitors safe by following face-covering guidelines, social distancing, wellness checks, and more.

It appears you must make a reservation before attending Discovery Center.

The new temporary hours are now Tuesday through Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an array of timed exits and entries, to allow staff to clean in-between visits.
