The DeKalb School Board has announced that DeKalb High School Principal will taking off the rest of the school year.

The Daily Chronicle Newspaper is reporting that Tamra Ropeter will be out on leave "to address personal matters". The school board has announced that Superintendent Doug Moeller to take over see Ropeter's duties.

This announcement is on the heels of a number of racially charged exchanges and rumors about threats against the school this past week at DeKalb High School.

Earlier today, The Daily Chronicle reported that on Thursday, about 220 DeKalb High School students stayed home from school Thursday. This followed a day after a series of Black History Month assemblies that took place at the high school.
