A Rockford area treasure will be thrust into the national spotlight on the Travel Channel's "Hotel Showdown".

Just Northwest of Rockton, IL sits the Copperstone Inn, located on Yalebridge Rd which will be highlighted at 8 p.m. Tuesday. On the show, four hotel owners visit each others establishments as guests, then rate their experiences. The hotel that has the highest score wins $25K.

The Beloit Daily News reports that Rich Spanton Jr., who is a co-owner of The Copperstone Inn with his wife, Chrisse, said they were contacted two months prior to filming and spent nine days on the road at other hotels and then two additional days at their Inn located at 6702 Yale Bridge Road between Rockton and South Beloit.

“I learned a lot from the other inns and hotels — things that we could add here to help our guests to have a better experience. I liked that the McCormick House Inn served breakfast in the room. We serve breakfast here, but I’d like to one day do in-service to the room.”

Other competitors on Tuesday Night's show include:

  • The Holiday Music Motel in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin
  • McCormick House in Hayward, Wisconsin
  • Guesthouse Hotel in Chicago
