Yesterday afternoon I tiptoed around the subject of not trick-or-treating tonight with my girls. Don't get me wrong, my husband and I are fully prepared to suck it up and brave the weather so our kids can go, but neither of us want to deal with kids whining about being cold when we do it. My girls are currently on the fence about going tonight, and they seem to be more excited about having a fire in the fire-pit in our driveway to hand out candy, so I'm sure trick-or-treating will be a gametime decision in our house.

Anywho, if you're a parent who lives in Rockford and is really hoping trick-or-treating will be postponed until this weekend so you don't have to deal with kids whining about the cold, I'm sorry to say; that ain't happenin'.

Yesterday the City of Rockford was bombarded with calls after Pecatonica, Winnebago Dakota announced they were postponing trick-or-treating until this weekend, so they released an official statement...

The moral of this story is, it's time to suck it up Mom and Dad and prepare to fight the battle with your kids about wearing a coat, gloves, hats and boots over their Halloween costume this year.
