Chocolate Butter and Chocolate Rolls Await You at This Illinois Restaurant Devoted to Chocolate
Chocolate lovers get ready, your ultimate chocolate experience is 90 minutes away.
I had a packed weekend from start to finish and I could write about ten stories about all the fun I had, fun the restaurant we went to for my sister-in-law's birthday took the cake, literally.
Did you know there's a restaurant devoted to chocolate in Gurnee, Illinois?
The Chocolate Sanctuary is minutes away from Six Flags Great America, we could see the roller coasters out the window and I highly recommend you take your most chocolate-loving friend for a visit.
Let's start with the chocolate butter. It was AMAZING.
It was paired with regular white bread and also a chocolate bread that was a perfect mix of sweet and savory. I ate it too quickly to take a picture... sorry.
But I did snap a pic of my Espresso Martini, which was packed with chocolate, too.
So I clearly should've ordered the chopped salad, because doesn't that sound incredible? But I didn't, I stuck with a non chocolate Caesar salad and an incredible side of Brussel sprouts and candied bacon, I blame my order on the fact that we were in the middle of a double surprise party and I didn't read it too much before ordering.
Aside from the chopped salad, you'll find chocolate in the Cocoa Spiced Butternut Squash Soup and you know what, everything but the Caesar salad. I need to go back this weekend...
We didn't leave without dessert and that chocolate frosting on the chocolate cake was SO GOOD. It's called 'Slice of Heaven,' and it was.
