Just like the old days Black Friday will be on the day it supposed to be on, Friday November 25th. Not on Thanksgiving.

Employees and customers who shop and work at CherryVale Mall will get to enjoy Thanksgiving this year. Fortune magazine reports that CBL and Associates, who owns and operates Cherryvale Mall announced that it will be closed on Thanksgiving Day this year. In fact, CBL also announced it will close all 72 of it's mall properties around the United States, that it operates, on Thanksgiving.

Some people refer to this phenomenon as the #BlackFridayCreep, meaning Black Friday, as of late, has been creeping into Thanksgiving Thursday, with retailers starting their Black Friday sales on Thursday, in an effort to get a jump start on holiday shopping. The outcry from consumers and store employees over this trend has been growing over the past few years.

CBL CEO Stephen Lebovitz told CNBC via Fortune magazine.

We think that for our employees and for the store employees, they deserve the day off and to be able to spend the day with their families,” CBL CEO Stephen Lebovitz told CNBC.

Also closed will be the Janesville Mall which is also owned and operated by CBL.

Retailers are starting to get the message and respecting what the Thanksgiving Holiday is all about.
