Popular Chain Closing Another Illinois Store on July 20

Nearly 2 years ago this national chain announced it would close nearly 300 of its locations through 2024, and in less than a month another Illinois location will close forever.

Chain Stores Continue to Close in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri

We've been reporting what seems like a weekly announcement of popular chain stores closing around the Midwest that most of us can't think of living life without.

Whether it's the Walmart down the street or the strip mall Bed, Bath and Beyond, some of the biggest brands from the past few decades are closing up their doors at a rapid pace.

Store in Illinois Closes at End of July

With locations in Iowa, Missouri, New York, and Florida already closing permanently, there will be several more before the end of 2024.

According to the U.S. Sun, the CVS Pharmacy in Brookfield, Illinois will lock its doors on July 20, 2023, as the company shoots for around 300 total store closures that will be completed next year.

In a press release from November 2021, CVSHealth announced it was "evaluating changes in population, consumer buying patterns and future health needs to ensure it has the right kinds of stores in the right locations for consumers and for the business."

According to the report in the U.S. Sun, those who currently have a CVS pharmacy near them should "brace themselves for possible closures over the next year or so."
