Campbells Recalls Thousands of Soup Cans Over a Big Oopsie
Campbell's was forced to issue a soup recall late last week after receiving multiple complaints about a surprising soup can mix-up from customers.
Look in your pantry, if you have cans of "Campbell's Homestyle Healthy Request Chicken With Whole Grain Pasta" in there, you may be the victim of a pretty major oopsie.
Campbell Soup Company has issued a recall for over 4,000 cans of this specific brand of soup because they were mislabeled. Upon opening, several customers have found that their chicken with whole grain pasta soup has magically turned into “Campbell’s Homestyle Healthy Request Italian-Style Wedding Spinach & Meatballs in Chicken Broth”. Hmmm....
According to WGN;
Because of the misbranding and undeclared allergens, mainly milk, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a class 1 recall
The recalled soup cans feature an establishment number of "EST.4R" on the bottom of the can.
So far the USDA has not received any reports of sicknesses resulting from the label mixup, but consumers are urged to either throw the soup cans away or contact the Campbell Soup Company at 866-400-0965 for more information on the recall or how to get a refund.
