Businesses That Are Open and Closed on Election Day in Illinois
Today is election day, the day when our next president will be decided. Remember, today is officially a state holiday in Illinois. The day became a state holiday when Governor Pritzker signed the dotted line back in October. Although it is a holiday, it shouldn't impede your day too much. So which businesses are open and closed on November 3?
First of all, there is no school today in Illinois. This is not a teacher, principal, superintendent decision. Again, it's a state holiday in Illinois. Second, county and state courthouses are closed on election day. Obviously, this is statewide.
Banks, post offices, and doctor offices are open. The same goes for dining and shopping. Grocery stores, restaurants, and retail should be open today. Check on Facebook if you are unsure. Burpee Museum and Discovery Center are open as well but you need to make reservations. Rockford Public Library is open as usual too.
Also, if you have not registered to vote you can still do it HERE or at your closes polling location.
