If you've ever been to Christkindlmarket in Chicago, you are well familiar with the boot shaped mugs filled with cocoa or the hot spiced wine.

Well this year the boot mugs are out.

What? No...

I loved those cute little boots.

In fact, I was mentally kicking myself for not getting one the last time I was at the Christmas filled market.

Now, I have no way of ever getting one again.

So why the change?

According to DNAInfo Chicago, the fair said "in the past that 'if we had them every year they wouldn't be as special.'"

Well I get that, but it's sort of a tradition don't you think ?

So what will the fair be offering instead of the boot?

This year you can sip the hot spiced wine, cocoa or whatever beverage you desire from a "round 'punch-kettle' mug. The mugs will be sold for $5, or $7 with Glühwein (mulled wine) and other beverages. Christkindlmarket will also sell a Kinder Club mug for kids featuring "Opa" (Grandpa) Snowman this year."

By the way if you've never been to the Christkindlmarket at the Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago, you have to go. It's so fun. It's filled with all things Christmas. Great food, drink, music, fun Christmas ornaments and more. If you need to experience Christmas at it's finest then this is the place you need to go to.

I'm serious, you need to experience Christkindlmarket at least once in your life.

The admission free market opens November 17th and runs through Christmas Eve.
