The dreaded word in my house right now is "COVID", and it's not because my husband, my oldest daughter and I have had it. I hate talking about COVID because of the confusion it has brought into my life. I will tell you this much, if someone in your house contracts the virus, it makes things easier if everyone gets it. If just one person tests negative it makes your quarantine situation a nightmare, but I don't want to get into all that right now.

It's no secret that COVID-19 cases are on the rise now in the Stateline area, and because of that, Boone County is now temporarily offering free testing sites. According to the Boone County Health Department, the locations for these drive-thru and walk-up testing sites change daily, but each day they will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Here are the testing site locations for the remainder of this week;

  • Tuesday, November 3 - Empower Boone at 200 South 5th St. in Capron.
  • Wednesday, November 4 - County Administration Campus at 1212 Logan Ave. in Belvidere.

Again, these testing site locations usually change daily, so before you go, make sure to check Boone County Health Department's Facebook or boonecountyil.org to see the schedule of locations for each week.
