The craziness of Christmas week is here, and I am massively dreading one of the errands I have to run today; going to the grocery store. I need to get ingredients to make the dishes I need to make for our two family celebrations, and unfortunately, some of what I need is fresh fruit and salad, so there was no 'buy it ahead of time' option for me here.

If salad is on the menu for you too this Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and you already have a fridge full of salad bags ready to toss that you bought a Schnucks, Aldi, Walmart, or Target, I may have some bad news for you.

Fresh Express Announces Massive Fresh Salad Recall

According to Fresh Express' press release;

Fresh Express is recalling certain varieties of its branded and private label salad products produced at the company's Streamwood, Illinois facility because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Listeriamonocytogenes.

No one wants to gift their family a side of Listeria this Christmas, so to see the full list of recalled brands, products, sell-by dates, and product codes click here.  I will tell you right now that several varieties of Aldi's Little Salad Bar brand are on there, so are many Marketside and Signature Farms varieties that are sold at Walmart and Target, so I'm kind of panicking right now.

Is it too late to place an order for a LOT of special salad from Lino's? I'm pretty sure I'll need them to save my Christmas meal now.
