Planning a trip to the Wisconsin Dells soon? Here are 5 places locals agree you must visit while you are there, (and two you should probably skip).

Spring Break in Wisconsin

Spring break will be here before you know it, and my family will be spending the week in Wisconsin again this year. We plan to spend part of the week at our family cabin, but my children have requested to spend the other part of the week having fun in the Wisconsin Dells.

Obviously, a trip to one of the Dells' amazing waterparks is already on the agenda, but what else could we see and do that we haven't already done before?

Like any good mom in a digital age, I turned to the internet for help and came across an old Trip Advisor review from a Wisconsin Dells resident.

It was titled "Must-dos and dont's in the Dells...from a local", and it covered " a few necessary experiences that can be accomplished in a day or two", which is exactly what I am looking for!

2. Wisconsin Dells Boat Tours - Several different boat tours are offered by the Dells Boat Tours, but many locals appear to recommend the Upper Dells tours for the history and scenery and the Jet Boats for the thrill.  (boat tours run April through October)

3. Wisconsin Duck Tours - The Duck Boats are a Wisconsin Dells institution that allows you to have fun on land AND water. Who wouldn't want to check that out?

4. Walk the Downtown Strip - The Dells' Downtown Strip may be packed with tourists and chintzy souvenir shops, but it also has great places to eat and drink, and there's FUDGE! No Wisconsin Dells trip is complete without a walk on the strip!

5. Noah's Ark Waterpark - This is another Wisconsin Dells institution, and holds the title of "America's Best Outdoor Waterpark".

Now that we've Wisconsin Dells attractions that are worth the hype, here are two that locals say you should probably skip...

1. Top Secret - Every time we drive by this upside down building and Transformer my kids are in awe, but many locals say it's "not worth the time and money". (Still looks cool to me though!)

2. Outlets At the Dells - Locals say this isn't really an outlet, just a mall, but I will say that I have nabbed some serious deals at some of the shops here. (especially the Michael Kors and GAP outlets!)
