What Makes Haunted Houses So Scary?

Honestly, I am not much of a "horror" fan. I don't watch scary movies. Ghost hunts or paranormal experiences totally freak me out, and embarrassingly,  I usually spend most of my time in a haunted house with my head buried in the back of the person ahead of me. Why? I don't know. I guess just the thought of monsters, serial killers, or ghosts on the loose totally unnerves me.

When it comes to haunted houses, it's not the dark or the gore that freaks me out. It's the dang characters jumping out of nowhere that I can't handle, but I know that is what a lot of people LOVE most about haunted houses, hayrides, mazes, etc. So, if you are one of those people that loves "maniacs" jumping out at you, here are the places you need to be in the Rockford area this October...
