When the calendar hits mid to late August and the kids go back to school, my mind automatically switches to Fall mode. I have been chomping at the bit for a few weeks now to put up my Fall décor, but even I can admit it's still a little too early for that. So, to tide me over until Fall go time, I have started reading about and planning Fall adventures instead.
Whenever I'm looking for fun places to go close to home, Enjoy Illinois is always my first stop. This website is a great resource for discovering some of the best things to see, do, eat, and experience throughout Illinois, and I always seem to find something new to try.

2. The Great Pumpkin Patch in Arthur: Calling all pumpkin enthusiasts! The Great Pumpkin Patch is a fall haven with over 60 acres of pumpkins in every size, shape, and color imaginable. There's also a corn maze, a straw maze, and a pumpkin cannon for some pumpkin-flinging fun!
3. Eckert's Country Store and Farms in Belleville: Many residents say Eckert's is a fall institution in Illinois. This family-owned farm offers several fun family activities and they have 11 different kinds of apples to choose from and pick. Don't forget to explore their charming store store for seasonal treats and gifts.
4. Grafton Zipline in Grafton: Ziplining through a forest is always fun, but when that forest is bursting with fall colors and offers breathtaking views of the Shawnee National Forest, it's a fall experience you won't soon forget.
