Beer Coming to Portillo’s in Rockford?

How 'bout a tall cool one with that tasty chocolate Portillo's cake? In Rockford, it may soon become a reality.The Rockford Register Star is reporting that the E. State Street Portillo's is requesting a permit to to serve beer and wine. A special license would have to be grated by the city of Rockford for it to happen.

The request goes before the Rockford's Liquor and Tobacco Advisory Board on August 16th. If agreed to by the board, the Rockford City Council would have to give the license a thumbs up before alcohol could be sold.

The only other nearby Portillos location is in Sycamore, and the location also sells beer, but not wine.

I'm not so sure a glass beer would go well with that famous Portillo's chocolate cake, but it would go well with the beef.
