Arlington Racetrack made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

The race season was supposed to begin at the end of April but was obviously postponed due to the stay-at-home mandate. At the time, officials said that optimistically the park would open at the beginning of June at the earliest.

Now the postponement has been pushed at least until after their scheduled Fourth of July celebration.

Unlike other racetracks in the country, Arlington will not run races with no fans, opting instead to close the entire operation down until further notice.

Hopefully, we'll have racing back at Arlington sometime this year. It's one of the best day trips to the northwest suburbs you can take.
