Another Rockford Playground is Destroyed By Fire

Firefighters battled a blaze that had fully engulfed a playground near McIntosh Elementary School at 525 N Pierpont Ave. in Rockford.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire in about ten minutes around 7 p.m. Monday (7/8) night, according to mystateline.com.

There were no injuries reported and fire department officials have not released a cause for the playground fire that caused an estimated $157,000. This is the second playground fire in just three weeks.
