You know what I think would be the best way to kiss this awful year goodbye? Welcoming a new furry family member into your home to love up on!

If your picture of the "perfect" pet features beauty, manners, and a playful, loving personality, look no further that Nyla, today's Pet of the Week from Winnebago County Animal Services!

Here's what Amber Pinnon, Adoption and Volunteer Program Coordinator for Winnebago County Animal Services, had to say about Nyla;

Nyla is our resident socialite. She loves meeting new humans and promises to greet you with a big smile. Nyla was found by a kind citizen wandering around by her lonesome. Unfortunately, her owner did not claim her. Being a resident at our shelter, she has prospered into a well-mannered young lady learning how to sit! Playing fetch with this energetic gal is never a slow moment. Chasing tennis balls or anything squeaky is her favorite way to spend the day. You will never have a boring moment with her, she even entertains herself by throwing her toys in the air and catching them, or chewing on a tasty bone. Being labeled a "snuggle bug" her reputation fits her name. If you are ready to relax, she will quickly grab the spot right next to you.

Nyla's adoption fee has been completely sponsored by WCAS Auxiliary and an anonymous sponsor!

For more information on adoptable pets, please visit our website at .

Normally Nyla's adoption fee would be $110, but due to the kindness of a stranger and the WCAS Auxiliary, Nyla could go home with you today for free if your family is found to be her perfect fit!

One more FYI for ya, if you're in the giving mood, Winnebago County Animal Services would really appreciate donations of meaty dog treats, hot dogs and peanut butter for their furry canine guests this holiday season...

Bonnie has a few special donation requests on behalf of her shelter buddies!

🙏 Our dogs at the shelter could use some...
