Since it first began in a few backs, Rockford's Festival of Frights in Sinnissppi Park has aimed to get bigger and better every year, and now they are really doubling up the Halloween fun for 2021.

When Does Rockford's Festival of Frights Begin?

The Halloween fun and light displays at Sinnissippi Park officially run October 22 - October 31, 2021 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and I'm going to warn you now that it pays to get in the entrance line early. Last year especially, the event was so popular that people who arrived late didn't even get through before the lights shut off! (They are set on automatic timers).

What's New at 2021's Festival of Frights?

Besides adding more spooky displays and lights, this year's Festival of Frights will have two new things to experience, the "Haunted Hills Hustle" and a "Spooky Stories"!

Let's start with the Haunted Hills Hustle that is perfect for the whole family to do on October 30, 2021, because each participant gets to choose the distance they want to go. There is a $25 entry fee, (that includes a custom Rockford Art Deli t-shirt), and you can feel good knowing your entry fee will be going towards buying Halloween costumes for kids and families in need in the Rockford area.

Now, let's talk about Spooky Stories happening at the Sinnissppi Band Shell on Friday, October 29, 2021. Kathi Kresol of Haunted Rockford will be sharing her scary tales and true Rockford ghost stories for FREE  from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. so you can really get in the Halloweeny mood. There is a limited amount of seating at the Band Shell for this event, so you should reserve your spot now by sending a private message on the Festival of Frights' Facebook.

Doesn't this all sound like some spooktastic fun?!?
