‘90210’ Star Gives Illinois Food Bank Big Wheel of Fortune Prize
I did not have any idea one of the stars of Beverly Hills, 90210 is an Illinois native, which explains why she would give a generous donation to a food bank in the Land of Lincoln.
Jenny Garth is arguably most known for her role as Kelly Taylor in Beverly Hills, 90210, but did you know she is originally from Urbana, Illinois? She's also starred in other shows, had a reality series, and most recently she was a contestant on a celebrity edition of Wheel of Fortune.
The episode aired last yesterday and not only featured Jenny Garth, but also Karamo Brown and Patton Oswalt. But, apparently, it was Jenny Garth who seemed to do all the puzzle-solving, as reported by The Pantagraph. "The Illinois native finished the game with a successful answer in the “food and drink” category", the Illinois newspaper reported. Jenny Garth's awesome letter/word skills won her $168,000 on the episode which had a $1M bonus round. She promised to give her winnings to Central Illinois Food Bank, which serves many counties, including the Urbana, Illinois nation.
Illinois native Jenny Garth isn't the only celebrity who has given back to their hometown Illinois community, Rockford's only NBA champion has down that too. Fred VanVleet regularly gives back to Rockford. Back in November 2020, he blessed many residents with his third Fred VanVleet Turkey Drive for the third consecutive year. VanVleet has also made sure hundreds of children have had new shoes, winter wear (like coats, hats, and gloves), backpacks full of necessary school supplies, and more.
