When it comes to Halloween costumes, I think the homemade kind are the best. Not just because store bought ones are expensive, but you also know no one else at the party will have one like it. Thinking you don't have the time or creativity to pull off a DIY Halloween costume? Think again, and here's your proof!

A winning costume in my book is clever, and can be super simple as long as it gets the point across. Case in point, these: 23 Halloween costumes for the pun-lover in you.

I love so many of these ideas, and can't help but think, "Dang! Why didn't I think of that!" I especially like the "shooting star" and "ginger bread man." LOL!

Some of my favorite Halloween memories are from when my friends and I would go out and party in a group Halloween costume. One year we were all the "South Park" characters (we even had Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo and Timmy in a wheelchair,) and then we were "The Smurfs."  I wish I could find the pictures to share, but then again, maybe they are hidden for a good reason.

A group costume doesn't have to be hard, and it will always get you noticed! Here are some more group costume ideas I found: 31 rad group costume ideas.

I did come across one group Halloween costume picture. Anyone remember when Q98.5 had a Halloween bash/concert at the NIU Convocation Center with Lady Antebellum and Jason Aldean and we dressed up as the Peanuts gang, a.k.a. the "Q Nuts?"

One last thing; a confession from me. I bought Ella her Halloween costume yesterday. Yes, bought. I am a tad ashamed, but in my defense I am working on an outfit for her birthday party and don't have the time to make two. Plus, my costumes usually involve wearing a lot of stuff that this child will not keep on. Simple is key here. Am I forgiven?
