5 Things You Need To Know Before Going To OSD
To have the best possible time at Old Settlers Days (OSD), the award winning festival at Setlers Park in Rockton, Illinois, you should know these things.
Four amazing days of music, food, carnival rides, more food and cold beer and more. OSD is all volunteer run and all the profits are given away through the Rockton Lions Club's charities, including: Rockton Food Pantry, Beloit Regional hospice, Center for Sight & Hearing, Hope Foundation, Rockford Rescue Mission, Special Olympics of Illinois and so many more.
There is a lot going on this year at OSD and we want to make sure that you enjoy everything. It's hard work having fun, but not after seeing this list. Once you know these things, you'll be set up perfectly to have the best OSD experience ever. To make sure my list was on point, I spoke with my friend Kerri Wallace, who is OSD's webmaster and social media chair.
5 Things You Need To Know Before Going To OSD
- There are carnival ride specials ALL weekend. The $20 unlimited ride wristband specials are Thursday and Saturday. For the details on all the ride specials, click here.
- New this year, a special kids area with: a petting zoo, magicians, crafts and a lot more. Free for kids 12 and under. For the schedule of events in this all new kids area, click here.
- Speaking of kids. No matter their age, if you're planning to take them with you to a main stage concert, they will need a ticket to get in.
- Buy your tickets for the main stage show online. It's much better than waiting in the VERY lengthy box office lines.
- Traffic and parking can sometimes be a hassle. And this year, there is some road construction you need to avoid. If you're coming to OSD from north of Rockton, use Route 2 to Union St. Do yourself a favor and use one of many free shuttles to get you to and from OSD.
