WREX is reporting that, "Two Auburn students are in custody after a weapon was recovered this morning."

The school was on lock down earlier in the day as officials investigated rumors of a verbal threat.

According to WREX, "Rockford Police and school administrators investigated and recovered a weapon. The lock down has been lifted and the school day will continue as usual. Students and staff are safe. No injuries were reported."

There has reportedly been no charges brought against the students at this time. Also, no information has been released regarding the type of weapon that was in the students possession either.

It seems like the flood gates have opened in the state of Illinois as more and more students have issued threats or been caught on campus with weapons.

If I was a parent, I would strongly consider home schooling them. At what point did it become too dangerous for our children to go to school? My generation is no stranger to this kind of situation but it feels worse than ever before.
